Steven C Smith, LCSW
I grew up near Houston but have called Austin home for over 20 years. I’m a proud dad to a middle schooler and a high schooler who keep me busy and bring tons of joy. When I’m at my happiest, you’ll find me outdoors, on two wheels, or hanging out with my family and our sweet dog.
Connection is everything to me—it’s why I do what I do
Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can talk about what really matters is the core of my work.
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing since 2012
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master of Science in Social Work from UT Austin. Since 2012, I’ve been helping people navigate life’s challenges. My journey in this field started early with roles as a YMCA summer counselor, direct care staff in treatment facilities, a teacher and counselor with the Peace Corps, and a case manager for refugees in Austin. I also interned at Austin Child Guidance Center and Del Valle ISD while in graduate school.
Empowering clients to make positive changes
In a private counseling practice, an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) focuses on providing personalized support to help individuals navigate life's challenges. I take a holistic approach, addressing mental, emotional, and social aspects of well-being. My goal is to create an open and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, set goals, and develop coping strategies. The aim is to empower clients to make positive changes and improve their overall quality of life.
